Our top Appraiser Tech Tips

Written by on March 18, 2014

Over the past two years, we've recorded and published over 100 Tech Tip videos — about one a week. Here are the tips appraisers have watched the most, remember the most, and found the most helpful.

The tip with the most number of views: "Using our new 1004MC template"

This one showcases our new 1004MC template as well as how to use it with TOTAL's forms-integrated worksheets. You download your market data from your MLS, then simply copy/paste that data from Excel (or OpenOffice) directly into TOTAL's Worksheet PowerView. We've done all the hard work for you by building the spreadsheet with the built-in formulas, so it's no wonder that this tip has more views than any other. The tip that appraisers tell us they have found the most helpful: "Multi-field QuickLists"

This tip covers how to use multi-field QuickLists to build a "neighborhood database." Most appraisers expect their software to be able to re-use data they've typed into previous reports, but many are pleasantly surprised to learn that with TOTAL you can even choose to save sets of fields as a single common response QuickList. The tip appraisers bring up the most often: "Using multiple monitors with TOTAL"

This was the first "at my desk" tip we did almost a year ago, and I demonstrate how TOTAL is built specifically to take advantage of a multiple-monitor setup. If you haven't introduced a second (or even a third!) monitor into your computer setup, you're missing out on one of the biggest — and easiest — productivity boosters available. Click here to watch how to use TOTAL in a modern appraiser's workflow.

Here at a la mode, we're committed to helping our appraisers be the best, fastest, and most productive appraisers in the market.
