Employee Spotlight: Jason Krise

Written by on May 3, 2018

Industry leading tech support. That’s a title that everyone strives to have, but few companies achieve. We're determined to deliver outstanding customer support to our customers every day.

Speaking of top notch-support, have you ever called in and talked to Jason Krise? He’s been troubleshooting appraisers' software questions for 13 years. You could say he knows a few things. This guy even keeps a Pocket PC (remember those?) at his desk, just waiting for that one appraiser to call in that's still using one. He cares, and he’ll never leave an appraiser hanging. So, take a few minutes to learn more about Jason.

Q: What’s your favorite aspect of your job?

Jason: The sense of accomplishment I get when I complete a complex and/or difficult issue I am tasked with.

Q: If a la mode were a TV show, which character – from any sitcom, drama, or reality show – who would you represent and why?

Jason: Leonard from the Big Bang Theory. I'm always dealing with new and crazy situations, my friends are a bunch of nerds, but unlike Sheldon, I have a personality — Kind of 😀

Q: Who do you admire most and why?

Jason: My wife, after 20 years she still has the capacity to put up with me.

Q: If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Jason: My wife's homemade fettuccine Alfredo with steak gorgonzola.

(Here's a secret about Jason that he’ll never tell you himself: He makes the BEST chocolate lasagna. We've had the pleasure of enjoying it at our potlucks, and would definitely include it in our "one meal" for the rest of our life.)

Q: What is your key piece of advice for appraisers that use a la mode?

Jason: Things change, not from time to time, but constantly. Windows installs updates, your security software downloads new security definitions, AMC requirements, etc.

Everything is in a constant state of change, whether you want it to be or not. Those who seem to have the least stress and the least amount of problems are those who understand that change is happening and are willing to adapt to it as needed.

Q: What's kept you working for a la mode?

Jason: My colleagues for one; I work with a good bunch of people and that is what's helped me through the years.

Our benefits are also a great incentive.

Lastly, I'm good at what I do, I may enjoy some trouble-shooting experiences more than others, but regardless, I'm good at it and I like a challenge.

We depend on each other to get through every day, whether our role involves directly helping appraisers over the phone or working behind the scenes to make things happen. We know you depend on us, too, which is why we get to come to work with a purpose. Thank you for that, and thanks for being part of a la mode.
