Transferring files with Vault

Written by on January 15, 2013

From time to time you may want to transfer an appraisal report from one computer to another. Perhaps you’re headed home for the weekend and want to work on a file from the house, or maybe you are collaborating with a trainee appraiser on a file. Using e-mail might seem like the best option, but you can run up against everything from attachment size limitation to lost mail.

Instead, use WinTOTAL’s exclusive “Send to Vault” option. When you’re done with the file in one location, simply right-click it or click the "Send to Vault" button, and send it to the cloud. When you get home, or to the new location, download the file from Vault so you can begin working on it.

The "Send to Vault" feature is included with a full Vault subscription. Vault is password-protected and USPAP-compliant online storage built for appraisers. You can search for your file by address, file number, date, etc. And, because it's online, you can access it anywhere, any time. Click here to learn more about Vault.

If you have TOTAL 2011, you'll get this feature next month with the release of TOTAL 2013. Or, if you don’t have WinTOTAL or TOTAL yet, click here for a free trial.
