Former WaMu Chief Appraiser tapped to help expand credit reporting business

American Reporting Company, offering credit reporting services for the real estate, mortgage and business communities, has tapped former Washington Mutual Chief Appraiser Sue Potteiger as its new president, with the goal of "grow[ing] the business from a Credit Report centric company to developing and managing a complete suite of settlement services to include Credit, Appraisal, Title, Escrow and Flood," the company reported.

We reported in March that Potteiger had left WaMu, confirming her departure with the then-number two originator. We're not sure whether anyone else ever did (no one accessible on Nexis did, anyway). Miss an edition, miss a lot!

American Reporting Company's website promises a "Master Settlement Program...Bundled Services at its best (coming soon)". It's worth keeping an eye on. "I'm thrilled to be a part of ARC. We're going to build a company that delivers settlement services to our customers in innovative and cost effective ways with a focus of service. I'm confident that ARC will soon become one of the best brands in the industry," Potteiger said.

While at WaMu, Potteiger lead the development and implementation of OptisValue, a proprietary web-based appraisal management and delivery system similar to AppraisalPort in its archiving and re-use of appraisal data. From its announcement and Potteiger's background, including as a member of the Appraisal Institute Residential Database (AIRD) board of directors, ARC appears to be aiming for big-player vendor management company status.
