Auto-expand in WinTOTAL’s Appraisal Desktop

Written by on July 31, 2012

An appraisal report is orders of magnitude more complex than a Word document, so why think of it like one?

WinTOTAL’s Appraisal Desktop gives you important information about a report in many ways without having to open it. It’s an entirely different concept than the simplistic view you get in Windows Explorer or competing appraisal software.

The Appraisal Desktop’s Files PowerView lists all the files in a particular folder, but you can expand a report’s listing with the plus sign to see all kinds of details about that report. We call it Auto Expand:

  • Find other reports with a subject that’s within a specified radius.
  • Remind yourself what the property looks like with a thumbnail.
  • View the status and brief history of the report, which is especially helpful for XSite orders.
  • Deliver the report, Mark it as paid, rename it, or even print a file label if you still use manila folders in a physical file cabinet.
  • See when the report was signed, when it was last modified, printed, and whether or not it’s already been backed up to Vault.

And you can do all this without even opening the report.

An extra tip:
You can view an even more detailed list of changes, additions and deliveries for each report in WinTOTAL’s History tab at the bottom of the File Cabinet. Click here to see April’s tech tip about this.
