Get confirmation your client got your report

Written by on October 9, 2012

Have you ever delivered a report to a client and they never got it, or they got the e-mail, but without an attachment? Wouldn’t it be nice to know your client received your UAD report, or even get confirmation that they successfully viewed it?

DataCourier in WinTOTAL and TOTAL delivers your XML-based reports to your client securely, and in compliance with Federal GLB regulations. Many appraisers still deliver XML files (which often contain non-public information) directly to their clients using regular e-mail, which is almost always a violation of GLB. DataCourier is not only easier, but gives you security and compliance in your delivery process without costing you any extra.

To deliver the report securely, choose XML and PDF via DataCourier when you deliver, choose your print options, then choose Send Securely. The other DataCourier options are to save the XML to your desktop, which is also free, and to use SmartBrowser to upload XML to your client’s website – a process we showed in a previous tip.

Your report is uploaded, and your client gets an e-mail with links to download the XML and/or the PDF. Notice the e-mail doesn’t contain any actual file attachments – only download links, helping you stay GLB-compliant during delivery. Sending with DataCourier also gets around attachment and file size limitations that many banks put on their e-mail accounts, sometimes making it almost impossible to e-mail a file to a client.

After your client downloads the report, you get an e-mail receipt, which you can then archive in the report’s Digital Workfile, just like we showed you in last week’s tip.

DataCourier is exclusive to WinTOTAL and TOTAL and doesn’t cost any extra. It delivers your reports securely via e-mail, while helping keep you compliant at the same time. To try DataCourier with your next UAD report, click here for a fully-functional trial of WinTOTAL today.

Bonus Tip:
While it's is a great way to deliver your UAD XML files compliantly, DataCourier can be used to deliver the PDF of any report, even our General Purpose forms.
