As you’ve likely heard, the GSEs have announced that a new desktop appraisal process will now be an option for some loan transactions as early as March 6th. We anticipate that the volume of these orders will start slowly, but we want you to know that we’re here to support you. The 1004 Desktop form has been available to you in TOTAL for a while.
To use it, search “URAR (Desktop)” when choosing a form for your report.
A shift towards desktop appraisals will affect appraisers in different ways, depending on whether you’re an independent or staff appraiser, your market, your fees, and more. Whatever your situation, and whatever types of assignments you choose to accept, we’re always striving to provide the technology and support you need to do your job as efficiently as possible, and we’ll continue to do so.
