Sketch curves quickly with these simple tools

Written by on March 4, 2013

Do you get cold sweats every time you drive up to a subject property with turrets or several rounded walls, and dread having to go back and create those using your sketching software? TOTAL Sketch makes drawing curves amazingly simple.

TOTAL Sketch has two ways to create a curve: while you are sketching in draw mode, or by modifying an existing line.

To create a curve while you are in draw mode, place your cursor and draw a straight line. Before you anchor the line by pressing ENTER, scroll your mouse wheel up or down to create the curve. You can even use ALT and your arrow keys to do this.

To create or modify a curve after you’ve drawn the wall, use Modify mode. Click the blue dot in the middle of the line, then once again scroll your mouse wheel up or down, or use the hotkeys (ALT + arrows.)

That’s all there is to it! Try this in TOTAL Sketch the next time you run into a subject property with a curved wall. And if you don’t have TOTAL Sketch yet, it comes free with WinTOTAL or TOTAL 2013. Give us a call today to get started.
