Employee Spotlight: Tammi Emerson
Written by a la mode on May 23, 2018
With an average tenure of over five years, our sales team knows what it takes to empower appraisers. It's their mission to make sure you have all the tools you need to run an incredible business, even in the slow months.
Tammi Emerson has been with us for almost two decades. She works hard to educate and advocate for our customers, whether you've been with a la mode since the floppy disk days or you're just now giving us a try. Like all of our sales reps, she knows that means treating our customers — and each other — like family. She specializes at the enterprise level, but if you've ever talked to her on the phone, you know she's just as invested in seeing the one-man shop succeed.
How would you describe your job at a la mode?
Tammi: Fast paced – and rewarding. It’s awesome working with national firms that use TOTAL. I get the chance to build rapport with the folks in those offices, which is really fun because we have the same goal: helping appraisers shorten turn times.
What’s your favorite aspect of the job?
Tammi: Helping customers and coworkers! Our office is full of great people that I get to call friends.
If a la mode were a TV show, which character – from any sitcom, drama, or reality show – who would you represent and why?
Tammi: Phoebe from Friends. My thought processes are kind of random like hers, and my vocal skills are about equal, too. 🙂
If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Tammi: Gosh. This is hard. I love food.
A cheeseburger with a fried egg and avocado, on a pretzel bun (since this is hypothetical, we'll pretend I'm not allergic to gluten!). Fries. A chocolate chip cookie with ice cream on top for dessert.
What is your key piece of advice for appraisers that use a la mode?
Tammi: Diversify. Work with a bunch of different types of clients. Also, go mobile, adapt to new technology, and be open to new ways of working more efficiently.
What's kept you working for a la mode?
Tammi: Getting to help appraisers and see my friends every single day.
We depend on each other to get through every day, whether our role involves directly helping appraisers over the phone or working behind the scenes to make things happen. We know you depend on us, too, which is why we get to come to work with a purpose. Thank you for that, and thanks for being part of a la mode.
